St Amand is in the centre of rural Normandy - a region which is very quiet, but also very accessible both to the UK and northern France. It is close to Brittany and also 3 hours by train from Paris. The beautiful west cost and the Normandy beaches are both approximately a 45 minutes drive away. There are flights to the UK from Carpiquet/Caen airport (half an hour's drive) and Dinard (an hour and a half's drive away) in Brittany. The ferry ports of Cherbourg (1 hour's drive) and Ouistreham (50 min drive) with ferries to UK and Ireland. The train station at St Lo has trains to Paris.
